    FBI Staff Operations Specialist

I have an interview for this newly created position tomorrow, which according to the FBI, they're hiring only recent college grads. The position is supposedly a support function for special agents and intelligence analysts. The goal of the new position is to get college grads into the FBI early and groom them to become special agents and intelligence analysts in a few years. Has anyone heard anything else about this position, or have interviewed for it, or anything related to it? Thanks, wish me luck...

I got the job announcement from an alumnus of my college looking for applicants. I have no idea if they made an announcement about it anywhere. They told me I'd be notified by mid-May, so the process may have shut down.

    Thumbs up

I also interviewed for Staff Operations Specialist. It is for recent grads 2006-2008 and apparently some colleges are/were advertising for it. Yes, it can be a pathway for SA or IA as I was told. The position was announced a month or so back under internal candidates at the FBI site but was not (nor do I think it has been) open to all qualified candidates. I hope to hear something positive back soon

    FBI staff operations specialist processing

mbrigha1, you stated you would be contacted by mid-may.
From what I understand...if you are selected by the FO, next was your name would be sent to DC for final approval...I guess then starts the PSI, Poly etc......
what is your understanding of the process?

They said they would contact by Mid-may, do your background, poly, drug test within a month, then start a 5 week training program in August at Quantico.

Wow, so....IWANNAB and mbrigha1, if you don't mind me asking, what are yalls qualifications/age? Just curious, I am currently undergoing the SA process (re-taking Phase I exam in July). I would have loved to apply for the operations specialist, I graduated in May of 06 but never heard anything about it. I wonder if they are still looking for candidates...anyways, got anymore updates on yalls situations?

passed the hiring blitz portion, now begins the background investigation. Barring any set backs, as soon as that is complete, they said I would be placed in a 7-week academy, which they run every month.

    SOS hiring question

Hi- I interviewed for the Staff Operations Specialist position on May 2. I was one of the first to be interviewed after the notice deadline closed. My background is in Middle Eastern History. I was told that they had about 2 more weeks of interviewing to do, then they would submit their recommendations and it would be about 4 weeks until they were able to start notifying people.
I was told to contact them if I wanted to follow up on the status of my application, and I have tried to do so twice. The first time there was no response whatsoever. The second time, I attached a "read receipt"... the message was read, but still no actual response. Does anyone know how notification is sent out? Several people have mentioned that they may not be responding because they simply don't have the ok yet. I would be surprised if they just "blow off" inquiries if you have not been selected.
My interview went well (I thought!) so I'm kind of confused by the lack of response. Anyone have any insight into this? This is going on 6 weeks from the interview, but as I said they still had a couple of weeks of interviews to go before they could submit their recommendations.

I originally emailed one of the people who conducted the interview - she invited me to contact her if I wanted to check the status of my application. As I stated, I got no reply. I emailed the HR person today (the one who originally accepted my resume) so perhaps I'll to hear back from her on Monday. If not, I will take your suggestion and just call.

Hey thanks for the heads up. I am pretty sure my school was not a part of the promotion for this job. So if you hear any job announcements for this position or if anyone else hears anything, please let me know. Thanks again!

    SOS Update

Ok so friends and neigbors (no family yet) have started being interviewed. Hopefully all goes well and in the near future I might get "THE CALL."

Historynerd: in response to your questions...6 weeks is a long time not to get a response but you might want to call the local field office that interviewed you for an update. Yes, the longest part for me in all this process was after my 1st interview--the panel that interviewed me sent their selections to HQ and then HQ gave the final yea or nah. That took about a month then after that all was usually within a week or two I had something I needed to do to assist in completing my process. I'm in the BI phase now. GOOD LUCK.

and regarding if this jobs for SOS are still open/hiring/recruiting....call your local field office to inquire.
