Stupid Excuses

Like CSOTaylor, I was in traffic court....someone was contesting a citation.

A few cases in front 0f me was a guy who'd been stopped for having a taillight out. It went something like this. True story, happened last week.

JUDGE
"Officer So-And-So, you observed Mr. Yutz driving south bound on the roadway with a burntout taillight?"

OFFICER
"Yes your Honor."

JUDGE
"Mr. Yutz, what do you have to say about this...?"

PERP
"Well, you see, it's not my fault and it's not fair that I be penalized for it."

JUDGE
"Who's fault is it?"

PERP
"The car company."

JUDGE
"The car company?"

PERP
"Yeah, they made the car, it's a faulty light. Why should I have to pay for it when it's their fault?"

JUDGE
"Who made your car?"

PERP
"Ford."

JUDGE
"Then take the receipt and send it to Ford to reimburse you citation, plus court costs. Have a good day."
