When it happened to me, I called the local PD and filed a report over the phone. They gave me a case ID number and I handed that over to my insurance. My comprehensive insurance covered the repainting of the side of my car.

Go to police station and file a report and contact insurance or pay out of pocket and tell your buddy to stop ****in' off people.

Contact local le and his insurance company. Could be some idiotic kid messing around or someone got his car mixed up with someone elses. It's a pretty simple thing to figure what to do.

Thanks for the advice.. I figured that is what he should do, but I figured I'd still check for him.

I got mine done at Maco, sadly. I went around to 5 shops I think, not one would help me unless I was willing to fork out 7,000 to 10,000 up front.

With that in mind, make sure you tell your buddy to call his insurance company. A lot of the "good" shops were only willing to do insurance work.

Logic says the only reason your car gets keyed is you ****ed off somebody or there is somebody jealous of the really hot expensive car you drive. Any "investigation" into who keyed a car is somebody who has a grudge.

And no maglite to any body part of the person who keyed my car. They gave their soul to god because their A## here on earth belonged to me for about 15 minutes.

What is the punishment for keying a car usually? Misdemeanor? Felony?

In Illinois, that would fall under misdemeanor damage to property. That is one of the best statutes on the book because if I get into a tussle with some s**tbag and he breaks, tears, or ruins any part of my uniform or equipment, I tack that on to a long list of charges. It usually sticks, too.

Must be nice in your county SigMan, Ha in my county your lucky if any charges stick. It's just to crowded for the courts to keep them locked up. Ok sorry I am off the topic. Sorry to hear that Zman about your friends vehicle. If some piece o' sh.....well never mind
