Any real news sites reporting this? The math doesn't add up to me, not to mention the fact that the military has a large minority voting block which typically votes Dem.

Not sure, I will keep my eyes open for it though. But I thought this would be interesting to talk about. Not from the standpoint of Romney should have won but how our armed forces members have been canceled out this election.

The numbers for that conspiracy don't add up, not even close. What you posted was a completely unsourced claim from a random blogger. As to military votes, it is an unfortunate fact that despite the best efforts of the military, absentee ballots don't always make it back from troops deployed overseas. In 1996 I was unable to vote in the pres election when my unit was deployed overseas. I also had a problem getting an absentee for the 2008 primaryt elections when I was deployed in Iraq. Since it was only the primaries, and the GOP nomination was pretty much sewn up anyway by that time I didn't push the issue.

I mean even with the Ohio early voting debacle. There's no reason the democrats had to push for an early voting deadline for military members. They should absolutely have extended opportunities to cast their vote.

Dude, you are repeating a partisan lie from the campaign. The Democrats did not try to take away early voting for military members. They tried to extend the same early voting to everyone else. That is a huge distinction.

WHAT?!? So did Romney actually kill that woman or what?

"What Shook argues in the motion is that the suit “reasonably may lead” a judge to make it harder for the military — something the lawyers on Obama’s side haven’t asked for, and have told the judge they don’t want to happen. When we followed up with Shook about that, he said he was still concerned about a ruling that could set “a dangerous precedent that could jeopardize other laws making it easier for a military voter to vote.”

    Unintended consequences.

Had you bothered to research the source of that article, you would have discovered the following about Duffel Blog.

Nice job retired! I used it to spark conversation about military voter 'suppression', or lack of understanding rather, with our armed forces overseas who were denied their right to vote. I do know that the Romney campaign has sued Wisconsin about a voting issue regarding our service mean and women.

    Nice try Crowley.

Actually the Mitt Romney campaign filed a federal lawsuit in Wisconsin seeking a five-day extension for absentee voters overseas and in the military. It wasn't just for the military, and it only addressed extending the time period.

I doubt I ever had any in the first place. I'm just a college kid at the end of the day with no life experience. I knew that the Romney campaign sued about a voting issue. My bad I didn't have the exact details.

I agree Romney should've won, just like I agree that Christy Canyon should have been my girlfriend and I should win the powerball without ever buying a ticket...but that ain't the world I get to live in, it's just the one I visit in my head.

Crowley. You just got owned by the military equivalent of "The Onion"

Honestly. When the only people in the room who get tricked by something are you and Victoria Jackson, I'd seriously consider letting me off the hook more often. Or at least doing some fact checking.

A satirical humor site like that means it's making up the story mate, not that it's reporting it in a humorous way.

    Did you not notice that when they said things like;

"While we were waiting we came under fire so we dumped a bunch of them in the Hescoes."

"Twelve boxes of ballots were dropped overboard during delivery to the USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) in the Persian Gulf, then while the ship sailed to Bahrain, postal clerks allegedly pocketed whatever ballots they wanted."

"The remaining absentee ballots were loaded onto a C-130, but the flight was delayed until November 1st so the crew could get tax free pay for the month."

"It’s a shame,” Rear Admiral John Dawes said when asked for comment. “I expected a delay so I ordered that everyone cast their votes eight months ago"

But all you really needed to read was the first sentence.

"Sources confirmed today that hundreds of thousands of military absentee ballots were delivered hours after the deadline for them to be counted, with preliminary counts showing that they would have overturned the vote in several states"

In the very first sentence, ignoring all the rest, you can tell it's fake. While we do have a large army, hundreds of thousands of absentee ballots would represent the entirety of the military voting block. It would be unlikely ( I hate saying impossible ) for all of them to even collect in one place long enough to be lost together, and unlikely again that virtually every single ballot in the US military could be lost and not noticed before November 6.

So, Mr Crowley, I have to ask you.

How's that Reagan quote workin' for ya? Does it seem appropriate for you to use it?

Did you read any of the other posts on this site?

"Romney Surges In Polls, Following Promise To Personally Pay Entire Defense Budget":

MARIETTA, GA – Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has surged ahead in the polls, following his pledge that, if elected, he would not only refuse to cut the Department of Defense, but would personally pay for the entire US defense budget.

Saying it was time for “every American to do their part”, Romney made the pledge while touring the Lockheed-Martin aircraft plant in Marietta, Georgia.

“As one of America’s leading poverty-deficient individuals, the least I could do in contributing to balance the budget and supporting our troops was dipping into my rainy day fund,” Romney said to an applauding crowd of military veterans. “I can always wait until next year before buying another island.”

The Duffel Blog was informed by Romney campaign staffers that the candidate first got the idea while rifling through his pockets for spare change, and accidentally discovered enough loose cash to fund the Coast Guard...

This is a humorous thread due to the "outing" of the poster as being horribly, horribly, mislead on current events, but the real truth that is outed here is the fact that this is a shining example of why most of the followers of the Republican party are so....vicious, violent and full of hate. They believe so much of the crap that is shoved down their throat everyday that they actually believe that they live in a soon to be socialist state with an antichrist dictator President and that the entire country is one giant conspiracy. This Duffel Bag is only a humour site, but Fox News broadcasts this kind of crap 24 hours a day with no disclaimer given , no "Ha ha , we are kidding" at the end. They edit video footage to give false information, they broadcast downright lies, and when you try to confront them with not opinion but FACT and TRUTH, something tangible, something ireefutable, they can point to the aforementioned conspiracy and say "See, I TOLD you so".

    * yawn~ what next, crowley? Da' Black pantha's were scaring off goodly white folk from the ballot box with crack pipes and shotguns? Obama koolaid mixes were slipped into the burgie beer of the red state rednecks to make them sleepy and misvote? The angry arrogant cubans of florida were kidnapped by the haitians and puerto ricans! Joe biden contacted "lord Xenu" to cast a galactic spell on the moral majority?

Balls up! Mittens got BEAT- people in this country VOTED and it wasn't for him by the majority!! Karl Rove was seen having a minor STROKE because the perverted lil' weasel couldn't be the "king maker" he once was back 8 yrs ago!!! and after all the doom and gloom B.S. I've been hearing for the last 3 days, its amazing that the U.S. Still stands.

Its funny how when Dub'ya won the second election, rightwing nutso's like you had NO problem saying it was "fair", but now , Mittens was cheated? "maybe" you didn't see what people were really feeling- "F" over union members and gov't employees- like in Wisconsin, and thats what you GET. disenfranchise people of ethnic and minority backgrounds, and thats what you GET. Make lame promises of a future to suburban youth who can't afford college, and thats what you GET. Stand behind people who think women should carry the babies of their rapists, AND? "thats what happens.....

FWIW, considering OBeezy is trying to get young people out of the sh*thole of nutjobs called Afghanistan, I doubt very seriously they'd vote for someone who wants them to STAY there!!!!

Maybe now John "Bonehead" and the pathetic party of NO( chance) will get back to working in a Bi- partisan manner to make this country better- everytime the country gets pulled out of the soup- mainly by the Dems, the GOPS takes credit for it ayway- by 2016 if we are looking right again, you'll get a republican in office( who like all republicans have done over the LAST 30 yrs, will drive the debt ceiling up again and tank the economy)

P.S. Crowley- LOVE your tag lines- quoting burke is appropriate- good men ( and women ) did stop EVIL- they beat- NOT Romney, who probably is a good man at heart, but FACIST, greedy PIGS like Rove!

and Reagan? senile in his later years, or else he'd have remembered that he was once a DEMOCRAT that utterly HATED republicans and saw fat cat conservatives as the damnation of this country and the working people....

Bingo, they were even convinced the polls were wrong and yet they were correct, with the exception Gallup and rasmussen (imagine that). I see outshined is back, and he is another prime example of hate and believing everything am radio tells him

.. and this is the mentality that people VOTED NO against- listen to "rightwing radio" compared to lame left liberal stuff" and there's a big difference- rightwing talk crap is laced with race bating, HATE SPEW, xenophobia, sexism, and people who call in screaming at the top of their lungs for someone or something to HATE- but foolishly clueless to admit that what they believe in is probably what has done them in!

i'll take and deal with a bunch of smelly ,broke, weed laced hippies protesting a bank and singing songs anyday over " we don't retreat,we reload", or "keep the white house WHITE"( can't remember ever seeing anyone showing up at a Bush Jr public rally with guns strapped to their backs, like they did at several Obama public appearances).

It seems the tea bagger mindset got all full of themselves and feel they can say and call people whatever they want( really dude- "rats?" what next- "untermensch?") same mindset is whats growing TIRED, and even the GOP is now starting to realize they allowed the WRONG DAMN message to get across to voters!

what I see is that the "AMERICAN SYSTEM" does work- people voted for the idiot they KNOW over the IDIOT they Don't! The House is still majority republican, senate dems, supreme court still conservative, and in 4 more yrs we get to elect another idiot that the "people" want...... RELAX it will work out...
