2012 World Series prediction
Ok folks, it's late enough in the season to have a pretty good idea who is going. For posterity's sake, it's 9-23 as I post my prediction: Washington Nationals will defeat the Baltimore Orioles in 5 games to win the fall classic.
What are your predictions?MAC

A's/Giants. A's in 6.
This is what we want to see right?

Watched the A's/Rangers game. Something is not right with Josh Hamilton. That dropped pop fly to shallow center, and the way he did nothing to go after it. The guy isn't all there. Plus the stories about his relapses in spring training....Plus, his manager was none too happy with him. Add to that he struck out three times. I mean, if you're a team owner, do you want to commit serious money to this guy?
If the Rangers believed in him, wouldn't they have extended him already? Seems like a red flag to me.
Makes you wonder if they know something.Last edited by JJHunsacker; 10-04-2012 at 01:46 AM.

Giants are winning again. Might as well accept that reality! ORANGE OCTOBER!

Anyone watch Braves/Cards? That infield fly call is going to be talked about. Not sure it's the call to make when the ball was hit pretty close to medium depth left field. Cardinals getting the hell out of there after winning was a pretty accurate barometer of the mood of the Braves fans.
Then again, making 3 bad errors put them into that position in the first place.

Is Baltimore really going to do this? Guess I should believe it. They outscored the opposition by 7 runs in the regular season. And won 93 games.
It makes sense. If I'm not mistaken, in 1988 they lost their first 21 games. In 1989 they made the playoffs.Last edited by JJHunsacker; 10-05-2012 at 10:54 PM.

Hamilton gets the reverse K again. And hears about it from the fans. Just a guess, but I think something is up.

As someone who has fallen asleep after watching the first few innings of a "must win" playoff game for the Cardinals TWICE in the last two years, I can say that I should have learned this lesson the first time. You just can't count them out. 12 in '12!!!

I want to see the Giants/Yankees, and I want to see the Giants obliterate them damn Yankees.

As much as I hate to say it...I think this prediction is spot on! My late father in-law is smiling down upon the Bay Area.
On a side note, I had dinner last with an MLB umpire (won't say who, 'cause I don't want to pass on all the 'you suck!' messages
). MLB wants each and every post-season game to go the full seven. Why? All profits from the first four games are split between the teams. After four games, MLB takes in ALL the profits. Got pretty big earfull on the logistics involved in 17 teams of three guys travelling particular routes with air travel and hotel planning which they do on their own. And the best/worst of the parks (in regards to care & feeding of umps) he absolutely loves Chicago, hates Tampa Bay - mostly only because of the neighborhood.
