but now my abstract is clear...way past the 36 months ... 5 years, including defensive driving courses completed, and Im 31 which puts me at a lower driving risk. when you read my driving history it says my name the "end of record"

the NYPD was going to let me come back and start over when I tried back in May of 12 but my list expired in July of 12 so I just took a back up exam rather then going through the whole process and get let down bc of my test expiring.

NYC Corrections on the other hand is telling me "just take another test" but my exam is good until 2014 ... and when I ask "why if my exam is good until 2014" they pretty much throw me through hoops until I get an answering machine of someone that never calls me back...pretty much not shooting me straight - all I want is to go through the process...not asking to get hired to an academy...decide that after I get processed...I was never DQed passed all the other steps...

i just processed for the state corrections Tuesday and I told them that I had gotten put on hold for my driving record in the past for NYPD and DOC ...he looked at my driving record that was clean and said "did anyone die?" i said "no" he said "where you drunk" I said "no" he said..."then dont even worry about driving everyone makes mistakes your driving history is spotless on record"

Psychological Exam Info On Monday November 5th at 7PM, there will be a Presentation regarding how to prepare for, and address all aspects of the Psychological Examination Process. It wll be at the Adria Hotel, on 221-17 Northern Blvd in Bayside. The Presentation is given by a Attorney (Retired NYPD Captain) and a Psychologist who both have extensive knowledge in the NYPD Psychological process- as they have successfully handled hundreds of appeals of candidates who have been disqualified psychologically. The cost to Attend is $175.00 if paid in advance- which is a VERY small price to pay, considering if you get jammed up (which is not difficult at all)- Appeals can cost between $4,000 - $8,000. Also take into consideration that a disqualification that is not overturned, will stay with you for life- its better NOT to get Disqualified in the first place.

IF you guys are interested, Check out http://www.lawenforcementpeptalk.com

If anyone goes, let me know and maybe ill take the ride and see you guys there.

    Hi everyone,

I did a search and read through the first 9 or so pages but I could not find the answer to my question. What is the difference between being on psych review and being on hold?

Review is usually for paperwork that needs to be sent in.

I was told to get written documentation of something, submitted it, the Dr. confirmed it was received, and my B.I. told me my status is on hold. So hold and psych review is the same thing?

On hold is not bad bout it hard get out of , so stay on top of it . Also hope for the best bout prepare for the worse. The same thing happen to me , onhold=review=DQ=appeal=dq again and now going to civil services court ..

If you are on psych hold and you withdraw out of the process before you get dqed, will it still stay on your record? My issue is that I felt that I was too honest about my alcohol use in college and I just found that I was placed on psych review, without any request for additional paperwork.

    hey everyone,

it's my first post so i apologize if i do anything incorrectly.

i just recently took the nypd exam, and obviously i know it's an extremely long wait, but i had a question on the BI part investigating previous medications.

i recently had severe acid reflux that caused acid to go into my throat making it feel like i constantly had something stuck there so my gastro doctor prescribed one round of alprazolam (generic for xanax) to relax the nerve endings in my throat for the hypersensitivity to the acid. i've never had issues with stress or anxiety, and that's not why it was prescribed (never seen any mental health specialist or psychologist/psychiatrist) but someone on the job told me that this would be automatic disqualifier, despite the fact it was prescribed for a physical reaction, only one time.

anyone have any thoughts on this? much appreciated

    Veterans disqualified by nypd psych

how many combat veterans on here have been disqualified by the psych for the nypd. I'm noticing a growing trend of veterans becoming disqualified for psych reasons and the reasons given are ridiculouls.

Depending on the interviewer, it could be looked at many different ways. The best you can do is thoroughly describe your case, and get documentation BEFORE you go. Have your doctor document why it was prescribed, and how you were prescribed to use it.

Ok so after reading some of the posts I'm kind of bugging out my question is if I'm on psychological rewiew is it safe to say that I will be D.q? I had my psychological interview at the end of November and now im on review.I had to get my school records saying that I was in special ed for 2 years when I was in middle school and resource room in h.s. I also had to get records saying that I took ritalin when I was in middle school. Am I on review because of that and when should I hear something do I just wait now till they get back to me?

That's not true. I was pysch DQ's from the NYPD and have since been hired by three other departments.

FYI, the "dr.(a.k.a. master's student on her internship)" that D.Q.'d me was removed because of the large number of applicants that she put on "review" or "dq'd". Yeah, she was a real winner.

You were lucky. Even know other examiners are supposed to make independant assessments of candidates, some will reflexively DQ a candidate based off another agencies decision. Its much easier for them to affirm another agencies decision
