    You can add Troy PD, Albany County Sheriff, and Washington County Sheriff/Police to the list. My computer is running too slowly this morning to add the links. Albany County Sheriff has no residency requirement to take the exam, but you have to move into the county if you get hired. I'm pretty sure Troy does not have a residency requirement anymore.

    Monroe County is also hiring Deputy Sheriff positions on the Road Patrol:

    No residency requirement to take the test. You simply have to become a resident of the county once you are appointed.

    Keep us posted if anyone gets results, they said 8 weeks at my site as well.

    Was hoping for a push into the January academy, but that's not happening.
    Trying to get on in NY...

    I have taken a few tests, and it seems that they all vary by municipality. I received a city test result first and then waited a month or so for the rest. Then the real waiting game starts.

    Im with 518 upstate, my bet is they should start to trickle in soon but the majority will be in Feb.
