I don't want to take the time to read all of them but what I see is they have some issues with alcohol. They are young men, with a signature become millionaires with limited education and maturity, with that and the attention they just don't know how to handle their lives. The team lawyers getting them out of trouble does not help, if they are valuable for the team they can get out of most anything. If it were not for the animal lovers, Vick would not have seen the inside of a jail cell.

Don't worry many (including members here) will still pay $$ to see the game and merchandise.

Eh... I prefer the college game.

Either way, all levels of athletics are marred with this type of stuff.

Time for the courts to start hammering these guys (and the famous folks in Hollywood) with real, legit jail time. No 6 months in separation. Put em in general pop... at least, thats my opinion.

There are 1,696 players in the NFL. How many have been arrested? You listed maybe 100-200, going back for four years. I would venture to say that it approximates the general population's percentage of people who have been arrested.

Not in the $18k + per year income bracket...

The NFL arrest rate is probably worse than what Burger King would tolerate from it's employees. The league simply refuses to take corrective action to punish it's employees. Look at Blount's punch during the Oregon vs. Boise State game (and that was college). If anyone in the stands blindside punched someone, they would have been arrested. There were millions of witnesses, yet no charges were brought against him. He should have been dragged off the field in cuffs.

#1 - Actually you could get away with lots at Burger King. As long as you don't bring the cops to work and you show up on time, they'll never even know that you spent all weekend in a jail cell, and they really won't care. But just because these NFL players are famous and well-paid you think their employer should take action when others would not?

#2 - It is not the NFL that determines whether charges are pressed against someone for an assault. I'm pretty sure that is up to the assault victim and the police (depending on location).

#3 - Every situation is different. A brawl in the stands can escalate very quickly to involve hundreds of people *cough*SOCCER*cough*. A fight in the middle of the arena, well, belongs there!

The majority of the charges listed is DUI. Practically anyone alive is capable of racking up a DUI at some point in their lives, and it is certainly common across all strata of society, no matter what income or who their employer is.

Why should he be arrested? Let the NCAA (or other applicable governing body) determine the penalty for the action. If you don't then you set yourself up for some absurd charges across the sporting world. For example this hit by Chara on Pacioretty has Canadian (Quebec) officials considering criminal charges against Chara. It was on the "field" of play, and the NHL investigated it and determined there wasn't malicious intent. Case closed. Or at least it should be. The very idea that a participant in any sporting event should face any kind of criminal charges for what happens on the field is stupid at best.

Now with Blount punching the other player it was on the sidelines, but still I'd consider it to be NCAA jurisdiction for the purpose of determining the penalties a player should face. Had he punched a fan in the stands then I can see charges.

As far as the NFL being full of criminals. No it's not even close to full. But even if it were do you think society would stop watching them play, stop buying merchandise, stop salivating over their teams and the players? You could have an entire team full of convicted felons and I guarantee whatever city they represented would treat them like royalty.

Most of these are BS. traffic violations. Not even worth mentioning. Glen Kimball was cited for speeding and DUI. Who cares? Glen's job is sweeping up the mens room at the bus station. No one cares Now take him out of the bathroom and give him a different job. Store manager. No one cares. put him in a position of authority, cop/fireman, then it becomes different. put him in the NFL/NBA etc and media will show up to traffic court while all the other tickets go with no attention.

Actually, I know a few former NFL players who are now law enforcement officers.

Leave these poor guys alone. We are supposed to be supporting them in their collective bargaining struggles with their oppressive employers that are taking advantage of the poor downtrodden workers.
