    How did interviews go today? Any idea how many people were there/what tests they were from? Was today the only day for interviews?

    The interview went pretty well. There were about 42 candidates and they chose 35. The interview was only one day (9/7/11). The academy starts on monday.

    Good luck in the academy...wow this just ruined my day I thought I would be in this academy also...any word on weather or not they are going to have another academy? Once again good luck guys and let us know how it goes

    Best of luck to everyone starting the academy Monday... Work hard its a once in a life time experience and one of the hardest academy in NY... The pay off is worth it

    yeah it seems like it will be one of the toughest law enforcement academy in ny... hope to be in the yonkers pct after graduation...

    I remember hearing from people who their investigator said they were all good to go and then months later found out something wasn't submitted or paperwork got misplaces etc.

    Also there could be an academy right after this one...

    The academy from what I understand is all political. No one knows until the very last minute. With all kinds of fiscal issues the city is having, its hard to determine where the funding will come from to put another academe through. I'm guessing the minimum is 6 months unless the academy can handle two classes at the same time, day night class like the NYPD. Don't know but it seems like we just have to sit back and wait some more. Keep checking in with your investigator, I am good luck

    Does anyone know what exam numbers got called for interviews other then exams
    8323 and 0319? We should try to get a running list of of exam info going like the nypd threads (exam number, test date, eligible candidates)

    It's all about when your exam was taken and when your process is completely done.... Don't forget that this could all be done and your paperwork for whatever reason does not make it up the chain for approval before academy. It's a very crappy process but keep at it, lots of guys on can tell stories of the hoops they jump through to get on and then some tell stories that are very short and simple... So is the world of civil service and the field you want to enter

    Joe i am wondering if once I complete the dep academy if there is anyway i can receive college credits to use towards a college degree of for another police academy.

    Certain colleges will take the credits from a DCJS Police Academy program; but you will only be able to apply them to a handful of degrees as well as you usually have to enroll in their program.

    Are you in the academy now?
