What are the agility standards? I think they differ slightly from police cadet.

I know it is not listed, but in reality don't you need Act 120 to get this job?

Again, I know you don't need Act 120 to be a deputy, but many departments want you to have it. Plus, when you have it you only do a two-week Act 2 training instead of 19 weeks.

No you do not need Act 120.

No, but you need to come down with your last 10 years employment to even apply.

Where can we get applications? I called and they said they'd mail it to me but that never happened.

They do not mail out applications. You need to go to Doylestown.

    From the website:

When filling out our application, bring complete mailing addresses for your job history and names, addresses and phone numbers for at least three references. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED

Yes you either need to be on file in the HR database - or you can go directly to Doylestown and fill out the app. The position is only posted for one week on the main web site, it's no longer there so I don't think they are accepting any more apps.

That is true. I was one of the 4 hired. 3 out the 4 of us are Act 120 certified. Its not a requirement, but it GREATLY increases your chances.

That is correct. It will greatly increase your chances if you have it. I was hired last year. 3 out of 4 of us are Act 120 certified. The word is we may be hiring 2 more by the end of this year, or beginning of next. Keep checking the buckscounty.org website. If I hear anything more I will let you all know.

Wow I thought they would be hiring before due to the two deputies who got hurt serving that warrant last month. It was in the paper the guy they served it to had prior assualts on law enforcement charges. Maybe they hired due to that or due to budget increases because they were supposed to hire 5 or 7 guys a couple years back. I dunno I speculate at this point. I wanted to get a job like this for exp. but the more I think about it I just want a patrol man job, my dream job.

    Need more than 4....

Hopefully they'll hire someone who can read instead of letting a wanted felon out without bail, so he can go south and shoot a cop!!! (story on front page).

How some judge in Bucks let out a felon on zero bail and then stole a car and went to NC and shot a cop before making the best decision of his life and ending his own.
