Ref: HUD OIG - Anyone know what this means?

I received a "Notice of Non-Selection" for the HUD OIG position, but not sure what it means. There are four different selections that they could have marked but the one marked stated, "This vacancy is being closed and will no longer be used for employment referrals."

At first, I thought they simply picked someone else, but then I read the three other ones not marked and now I'm confused.

The other three were, "your application has been considered, however another candidate was selected," "the position for which you applied is not being filled at this time," and "this vacancy is being reannounced."

Anyone with OIG or another agency that uses Bureau of Public Debt as their outsource for employment know what this means?

HUD must have ran out of funds and canceled the announcements. I received the same notice today, but it was for another location.

In the last seven days I have received notice for 4 diffrent announcements.

I think they are rethinking there man power plan.

That's what I'm thinking too.

It sounds as if either the following happened:

1. The person they want did not make the cert list so they sent it back
2. They filled the position from the federal ranks (IE non compative)
3. Funding for the position is no longer there and they are going to not fill positions from that announcement.

It happens alot federal especially this time of year. Give it till October when a new budget is placed and you should be see more vacancies.

Bureau of the public debt (one of the many treasury hr's) actually handles lots of government announcements such as armed forces retirement home etc

My analysis show though that there is still one open announcement per city (Merit, GS-9) open in the cities where these were cancelled. So it appears the are focusing the selection to one certificate of eligible’s.

San Francisco (GS7 MP, GS9 DEU & MP) closes July 24
Denver (GS7 MP, GS9 DEU & MP) closes July 30

On the announcement it stated applicants from the earlier announcements do no need to reapply and their applications will be considered for this new round of announcements.
