    sample letter for soliciting donations

I am in the process of writing a letter to ask for donations and I am kind of stumped. Has anyone written a letter for donations. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Where it's HOT
Go ask in person from whomever you need to ask from. If you need to, set up a meeting. I once raised 15k in about a week for a buddy of mine, he didn't have too great a set of people skills but wanted a dog and asked for help. It's not really that hard, the worse they can say is no.

yes, in person is the way to go, and make sure you are prepared for questions (readver-prepared) lol, also if your Dept. will allow it, put on a shirt and tie and your gun and badge to go around, be friendly but professional, and good luck!

Send me a PM and I will send you a copy of the letter we used. I too would also make sure to go and deliever the letters in person. Check online to some of your major businesses to see if they have community grants.
