I've seen these pics before on a different forum and they were not referred to as Charlton Heston's residence. Although it's an impressive collection (and estate), I doubt they were his.

I had checked Snopes, and there's nothing about CH's guns. So, after starting this thing rolling, I forwarded what I received to Snopes. Perhaps they'll sort it all out.

Is that door in #3 leading to a small firing range? And I think the vault door was from the gold vault at Ft Knox. That is one sweet gun closet no matter who it belongs to.

I think so, they look like metal shooting gallery-type targets. Yes, even if it's not Heston's, I like it.

It's Charlton Heston, and we've had this discussion before...you were the last one to post in this thread when he died:

And if you really need to learn about him, not only for his civil rights and gun rights advocacy, but for his importance to film as a visual media, you can try this link:

Or are you just, effen' with us, because we're fun to eff with?

I would want one of those Sturmgewehrs over almost everything in there!

Even my coworker, (the biggest liberal the world has ever known!) enjoyed that basement.

I wonder what type of permits one would need for a flamethrower?

And WHO did it? How'd these pictures get out! Justhomp? Did you snap a couple shots of my basement last time you came over?! That's it, no one is allowed back!

Update from Snopes.com

Hey all,

After starting the ball rolling, I did notify Snopes. They e-mailed me the following link to their final verdict:

http://www.snopes.com/photos/architecture/gunvault.asp

Still a pretty cool vault and collection.
