What kind of go bag/bail out bag do you have?
For those active shooter, long deployment type calls. I know we've discussed what people carry in them. If you want to post what you carry that's cool but I'm more interested in the bag iteslf. Who makes it, where'd you get it, how has it held up, how much was it, etc..? Also, if you got any pics post them too. I'm looking to get one soon.

My partner and I have been using the Battle Bag from Black Hawk Industries.
http://www.blackhawk.com/category1.a...art=&priceend=
The bag goes for $99.99 at BH site above. They can be found used here and there. I bought both of ours used and paid $50.00 a piece for them.
My partners bag has been in and out of a cruiser and PV 24/7 since last October. Mine see's a little less use as I am a reserve. These bags perform like they are bullet proof. We have not had one issue with them. The stitching is A+ quality as well as the layout of the bag. Pics below:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just came across a smaller rig and look forward to getting ti set up and "gifting" it to another one of my partners down at the barn. This is a custom made bag for the Illinois Tactical Officer's Association 2007 conference. I picked it up for $35.00 from another cop!
It is a perfect size bag for quick deployments. Again - the stitching is A+ and the whole bag appears to be solid as hell. The orginal strap was to small to over gear, vest etc so it got repla ced with the black one.
Not sure where you could get one of these - as I don't think they are forsale - but you could easily have one made up as its a very simple design.

active shooter, long deployment type calls???? those are 2 completely different calls. with an active shooter you are going in fast and taking him or them out, no need for an extra bag. long deployments, i could see the need for one but no one i know has one all i could think that you would need is maybe bug spray, anything else will be brought to us like water.

You never know what might happen once you engage the target. Nothing says you won't find yourself separated from the rest or pinned down with no reinforcements to come to your aid as quickly as you might like. The Hollywood Shootout proved that to be true.
Perfect reason to have a bag that is light and quick to grab that holds a extra magazine or two for your rifle and perhaps another magazine for your secondary, water, a one handed tourniquet, hot hands (depending on the temp), some quick clot, perhaps a door jam and a small candybar etc etc.
Only makes sense to be prepared. Especially when it can be done with a simply grab bag that is small and easy to carry. In my book - you never want to be in a situation where you are dependant on someone else for short term life saving staples.
Stay Safe,
Half

well, thanks for pointing out the difference between the 2 despite my not having asked that. an active shooter can turn in to a hostage/barricade situation and vice versa. multiple attackers inside a multi-level school? i bet most of us would want that extra ammo. get shot/pinned down in a classroom on that active shooter call? you'd also be glad you packed some things in that bag.
long deployment...maybe spare batteries for lights, extra radio battery, spare mags, power bar, whatever. if you are on a perimeter position or holding in a spot close to the threat why risk sending a support or perimeter person in if you could just have your own supplies with you?
if you have all this crap in a small bag all you have to do is throw it over your shoulder...takes less than half a second and wouldn't slow you down going to your active shooter. no more time than slinging your long gun so why wouldn't you carry it? thanks for your .02 though. i'll be sure an take it into consideration. (can you detect my sarcasm?)

I carry my EMT Load in a Kifaru Tailgunner II, and the rest of my stuff (Lights, Jerkey, Sunflower seeds, Chocoalte covered Espresso Beans, Water, Ammo, Door Wedges, 550 Cord, Duct tape, 12 Inch Crowbar, Batteries) in an old London Bridge Trading Company Ranger ruck. ( If I'm carrying an IV Bag, it usually goes in the Radio/Pistol Pouch on the side of the ruck)

I like having both because You can comfortably wear them together, or one at a time as events warrant.

maybe where you work that makes sense,(extra batteries, protein bars) but here we will be relieved by swat within a couple hrs on any barricaded gunman/ hostage. with an active shooter your not gonna wait for swat so you have to go in so extra ammo would be nice to have, but we cant just spray and pray like bad guys can we have to account for all our rounds. I have 10 round mag in AR-15 and a 20 round on the stock. Its possible but I doubt I'll need more then 30 rounds. plus 40 cal with 34 rounds. The hollywood shoot out would have been over fast if LA had AR-15's. I understand that things are dynamic and you gotta change with them if your work way out in nowhere land then you gotta be more self suffecient than I do.

I work for a county with a population of 800,000+ people 15 mins outside of Atlanta (hardly in the middle of nowhere) and I'm on the SWAT team. My point is, why not have it and take it with you? It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Soooo, if it's possible, no matter how slim the possibilities, why wouldn't you want to be prepared? And who said anything about spraying and praying? I can assure you my rounds will be properly delivered. If you think that a Beslan school type attack will never happen here you're sadly mistaken. We also thought 9-11 would never happen. It won't be the US military that responds, we are the 1st responders. I'm not going to get in a tactical discussion with you. If you don't carry one that's fine, I really don't care if you do or what your reasoning is behind it. I only wanted input on the bags themselves. In the meantime I'll pray that nothing happens up there in NY where you're going to need more than your current stock of ammunition.

When does SWAT ever work the outer perimeter? What about spending a few hours walking through the woods looking for a suspect?
I have the BlackHawk Battle Bag if anyone is interested in it. Only used it a few times so it is in great shape. It is a good bag, but I am too much of a pack rat, so I need something a little bigger. $70 shipped CONUS.

Well, not to hijack the Op's original qestion, but 30 rounds is not sufficient.Try 90-120.

Coyote Tan. I did not want to be typical "cop" and get tacticool black. Besides, being a deputy, it matches the brown uniform.

I guess its different down south. Im not going to be stuck on outer perimeter without relief. Do you grab this bag everytime you get out of your car like traffic stops and domestics??? I assume you dont get out the AR-15 on all your jobs. If its only something that you carry for tactical situations I could see that, but even a traffic stop could turn into a huge gun battle so all your gonna have is your side arm and extra mags. unfortunatly we have to put ourselves in harms way sometimes.

It is something that you grab when you take the rifle out of the rack.

My view: sidearm is for the surprise gun battle, and even then, use it to fight your way to your rifle if possible/practical.
If I know I'm going on a gun call (not that often in my area, but we have our moments), the rifle is with me. Like GGG said, you grab the bag with the rifle.
I'm still trying to make a decision on a setup I like. Being caught without such a bag last month was more than a little annoying. I'm leaning towards the Hawkepak B.O.B. that some guys on here have recommended.
But for $37 I'm also considering this: http://www.gtdist.com/ProductDetail....=511-56026-019

For $37 you can't go wrong. If it does not work out for what you intended, you can use it for a range bag or something else useful I am sure.
I am glad you posted up, Yankee1 almost had me convinced that self sufficiency was a Southern trait.

What do you guys think is the perfect/Minimal loadout for an Active Shooter Bag. I'm going down for Surgery tomorrow and will have about 2 weeks off. I'm going to ry my hand at designing and making a decent AS bag while I'm useless.
I was thinking:
4 Rifle Mags
2 Pistol Mags
Med Kit
Multitool
Door wedges
550 cord
Flex Cuffs
Am I missing nessicary gear?

This is a pick from a cop that I bought this hawkepak from. My bag is set the same except for the following:
- I carry extra shotty rounds instead of rifle rounds.
- I carry 5 light sticks of asorted colors.
- I also carry about 25 feet of 550 cord.
