NYPD July 2008 academy class!
Who in here is waiting for the July 2008 academy class?
if so when do you start processing for it?.
I called APD and they set me up to start the hiring process for march 2008.
I guess I'll be in the NYPD if all else fails, I hope they fix their starting pay by then to since those college bills are going to start coming.

hey, john, there you are. I was just asking about you in another thread. yea, I'm thinking I'm gonna be trying for the july class. I probably wont start processing for a while though. no rush. I'm looking at dc, baltimore, dc transit, and a pd in jersey. I'll also be taking the njdop exam in may. how did you do on the suffolk exam? I only got an 80, so I can safely cross that one off my list, lol.

I'm testing in February and hoping to get into Quest. I probably won't make a 2008 academy class. But hey, you never know.

If you're remotely intelligent and you care about how you do, you'll get a really good score. They ask you a lot of the same type of questions so you're tempted to just skip to the end of the question and fill it out real quick- because you're bored- thats the only "hard" part- the test is really really easy.

I've been all right. I'm glad the holidays are over, too. it's all just a pain. haha. so I'm guessing you'll be graduating in may/june? I cant believe we only have one semester left. it seems like last week I was all ****ed because I had to wait another year before starting to apply and now I'm gonna be starting in a couple weeks. did you get your results for psp yet?

yea I did, I did horrible on that test, it was a completly different test from what I'm use to. but I guess it wasn't meant to be. I'll try again in a couple of months for PSP. I'm so happy I only got one semester left;it feel like its been for ever lol the longest 4years of my life lol. I start the hiring process for the NYPD in early march, I guess I'll do that until I get something better.

I wanted to but they person that answered the phone in the apd told me I have to wait until march and that was all. Before I could ask if I can start earlier they hung up on me, I can feel it already this is just a preview of the crapy treatment you get in the NYPD.

Hey John2008, APD doesn't want to waste time talking about a July class since they are extremely busy trying to get the class to start on Monday contacted. Call back in a few weeks, after the backfill is processed. I hope that it works out for you.

I figure that too, but I was thinking if I call back I'll probably will get the same answer. I'm thinking they are going to process me with the people that are taking the test in Feb. or that just took one of those test in Jan. lets see what happens. I'll give em another call in Feb just to see what they said.
Thanks for the info.

I am going to re-open my application soon for the July class. I just need to come up with money to pay for all the FEMA credits I took. And I need to get back on track working out, I took a break from running / gym during the Holidays...

I think you have to reopen your case again,do the JST ,and the Mini medical. I put myself on hold right before New years , My investigator said that I have to take the jst , the mini medical ,reopen my case in brooklyn, and they will give you the same investigator again.

When I withdrew my investigator told me all I had to do was to call him and he would put me back on the list, as long as it was within six months. The pschy, JST and mini med are only good for six months. The first medical is good for two years and you just have to update your background. The first thing you have to do is call your investigator to reopen your case.

Heys guys, quick question. I took the NYPD test in November and passed. They wanted me to come down to the city December 7th and bring my transcript, SS card etc. I decided not to go down, so my question is will they contact me for the July 2008 academy or do I need to give them a call? Thanks alot guys!

I did the same thing and called a week ago. I guess they were still working on the January class and told me to call back this week or next. They do need you to re-open your case because they will have closed it based on you not showing for the Dec. 7th date. The first person I spoke to was very annoyed with me and thought I was someone who had called a few minutes before. Otherwise, I don't think it's a big deal.
