The biggest enemy of young black males...........

This was posted on another message board. It's such a great post, I thought I would share it with you here.

When I came on the job just twenty short years ago, the City of New York was awash in the blood of its citizens. Close to three thousand New Yorkers annually became homicide victims. Then, as now, the overwhelming majority of these victims were young black males and, then as now, the overwhelming majority of persons turning these young black males into homicide victims were/are other young, black males.

Al Sharpton became prominent (although notorious is probably a better word) at around the time I came on the job. He interjected himself into a completely fabricated racial case upstate that quickly unraveled. He was sued for slander by the person falsely accused and socked with a verdict of nearly $100,000. Sharpton succesfully evaded this judgement for years claiming poverty (while his children attended a fancy $15,000 a year private school) until he was able to find some sucker to pay his bill. Finding suckers to pay his bill became Sharptons forte'.

Fast forward twenty years and we find a much different New York. Homicides are down from 3000 to around 600. Crime has fallen in all categories and the men and women of the New York City Police Department are solely responsible for it, having given their blood and in too many cases their lives for the "Safest Big City in the Country". And who have been the biggest beneficiaries of our sacrifices? You guessed it. Young, black males of whom there are about an extra 2600 of around every year because of our tirelss efforts and supreme sacrifices.

What hasn't delcined is the percentage of young black males who eagerly turn other young black males into homicide victims. Statistically, the biggest threat to the life of a young black male in the City of New York remains another young black male and Sharpton and company have done absolutely nothing to address it. There is no profit in preaching personal responsibility. There exists no opportunity to grift when delivering the message of self-respect. This is why you will never see Sharpton slither in every day and a half or so when a black man kills another black man.

Look what they did to Bill Cosby.

Bill Cosby had the nerve to suggest that the Black community show some self respect in their actions and suddenly two women emerged from nowhere claiming allegations of impropriety from thirty years earlier. Cosby was messing with the Goose that laid the Golden Egg and they fixed him but good.

Sharpton and company as self appointed leaders of the black community have presided over a record drop-out rate, the highest infant mortality rate outside of the third world, a nearly total rate of children born out of wedlock and a self genocide, but can find no more compelling or important issue than a drunken felon who attempted to run over a police officer and in the process wrecked his own car (containing spent shell casings)as well as two police cars before forcing an incredibly restrained squad to open fire to bring his reckless actions to a halt.

The black community under the direction of Al Sharpton is fiddling while Rome burns.

Al Sharpton and his ally Jesse Jackass are total clowns and are so racist they make the KKK look like saints; one of them (I think Jackson) held a rally at Columbia where he led a march around the campus chanting "Hey hey ho ho Western Civ has got to go".

Yet all Sharpton and Jackson do is bitch and moan and pull the race card on every little thing when race had nothing to do with what happened and in many cases create a media circus and whip the Black community into a frenzy over a lie (Tawana Brawley or w/e her name was).

Is it racist to point out that according to NYPD crime stats, 69% of all MURDERS in New York City are committed by blacks and that according to the 2000 US Census the New York City Population is 26.6% black. So Blacks in New York City account for more than double the homicides then the population % they represent!

In addition, 95% of the blacks murdered in New York City are killed by other blacks!

Boy what a racist I must be to point out that blacks in New York City are gunning each other down in the streets.

I look forward to the day when Mr. Jackson takes the lead on this march away from Western Civilization. He could start today by wearing a loin cloth and some bright-coloured beads, while parading the skulls of his tribal enemies around, dangling from a vine around his waste.

I find the whole race peddlers' arguements very ironically twisted. Back during MLK's day the want was a color blind society. Now that institutional racism is dead, the ones who do NOT want a color blind society are the black "leaders." All of them will cite stats to show that blacks are searched more on the side of the road at a higher percentage than their population or that blacks are not represented in a company's workforce than their population. YET!!!!!!!!!!! at the same time if stats show us that a higher percentage of blacks drive faster than others THAT IS RACIST! Or GASP!!!!! that a higher percentage of blacks commit murders THAT IS RACIST!

As Dr. Walter E. Williams - one of our nation's greatest thinkers - likes to say, "Rev. Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse 'Jackal' Jackson are nothing more than the Klan with the tan. Their attitudes, actions and beliefs have done more to hurt the black community than anything put forth by the KKK itself."

It is a shame, but Jackson, Sharpton and others thrive on and benefit from racism - real or perceived - and will stop at nothing to 'keep the hate alive' as long as possible.

The writer of that article has it exactly right, although I would not expect that piece to be on the editorial page of any major urban newspaper.

Yeah, Just like idiots that think I should pay the price for having white skin when my people were sharecroppers picking cotton right next to your forefathers. Just like the people who feel that it will help solve the problem if black people recieve restitution for something that happened two hundred years ago, while people that weren't even involved have to foot the bill. The simple fact of the matter is in a lot of instances that both the black community and the white community fail to take responsibility for their neighborhoods. The only difference is that you never see the white community rally around a 12 time felon and call him the unfortunate victim without knowing anything about the situation. I agree with some of your statements but the biggest problem is just what you said, that you would not be able to get over oppression in a couple hundred years. Well, most people have moved on. But if you feel like living with some imaginied 200 year old slight hanging over your head then you are part of the problem.

I think what is being forgotten here by some, is that the systemic racism that Martin Luther King Jr. fought against, is still, and for some time to come, still part of living memory.

Yes, slavery happened 200 years ago, but what scars were left by it?

And how were those scars passed down from one generation to the next?

I don't think the pain of slavery, segregation, racism, will ever completely be healed, not in our lives, and not in our childrens. And to think it will be, is simply foolish and requires deeper thought.
