I am a certified C.O. in Florida. Does Ohio accept any other states certifications? Also is the state currently hiring any C.O.'s for the state prisons (preferably Mansfield). If they don't take any other states certifications do they sponsor anyone throught the acadamy or is it self sponsor?

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction accepts C.O. applications on a regular basis. You can go to their website to get more information on the selection process and benefits. Hopefully, they can answer all your questions. Although they don't accept lateral entry from other D.O.C's, the experience is a major plus in getting hired. They sponsor all their trainees through their academy at Orient, Ohio. Plus, you receive full salary and benefits while a student there.
