Any problems in NY with HR 218?

I have family in NY and travel there a lot, I have heard of some out of state officers having problems in NY with off-duty carry. Was there any truth to this?

New York City or New York State? Either way I don't think you'd find much of a problem carrying....

New York state, Albany area. But I'd be curious about NYC too.

There shouldn't be any problems throughout NYS, including NYC, although maybe someone from NYPD can shed light on this.

Even before HR-218 became law, you wouldn't get any hassle, especially in NYC. That is, unless you're acting like a jerk and waving it around drunk at a bar. Just possessing it would never be considered much of a thing, as long you had credentials with you.

Not legal (before) but no big deal.

Professional courtesy is real big with NYPD. As others suggest, just behave appropriately and you won't have a single problem.

Enjoy the Big Apple!
