If I take the NYPD exam in june and end up getting a call back, do I have to continue on with the process? I was thinking of taking it as a practice exam because I still have one year left of school and am more interested in another department.

You don't have to follow through on it if you don't want to.... from what I understand you can retake them anyway.

I took 4022 in June and got an 82.3, and received a call the very next day

If a practice exam is all you are looking for (with no intention of taking the job) why waste your time and money? Instead, how about you go to a book store, purchase a Police testing guide (they have many containing past NYPD exams). Would you want to tell a future background investigator or an oral board that you signed up and took a police dept exam just for practice? (In my opinion, I don

NYPD exams are free.... no way you can waste money unless you trek in by train and buy a ticket.

Unless the nypd will be holding their exam somewhere in Ohio, Ene803 will have to shell out a few bucks to travel to ny and take the exam.
