Cincinnati PD

Hello I'm new to the forums and I have a question for anyone that knows the hiring standard requirements for cincy pd.
First I need to tell you some background I graduate in May from Milford High School. I also am already enlisted in the US Army as an 11x with an option 4 (Airborne Infantrymen) for a 4 1/2 year enlistment I ship out to basic at the end of june. When my enlistment is up I will be around 22 and a half and then will go to the police acadmey at UC Clermont College then hopefully will get hired at cincy pd.
My main question is I know a college degree is preferred to get hired as a police officer but how high of a degree would be good?
I'm going to study criminal justice through earmyu an online college for active duty soldiers to try and obtain my degree. I really only want to obtain an associate degree but I'm afraid that I won't be hired unless I have a bachelors. So basically do you know if I was a veteran and had an associate degree would that be good enough to get hired or am I cheating myself if I don't go for the bachelor degree? Thanks in advance for any replies

Cincinnati P.D. requires an applicant to be a high school graduate or have a GED.

All of this information is available on the Cincinnati Police website here...Police Requirements

It took me 30 seconds to find it.

Cincinnati puts you through their own academy. Going through UC Clermont would be a waste of your time.

I'm sorry I think you sort of misunderstood my question or I didn't word it right.
Basically what I was asking is to have a better chance of getting hired do I need a bachelor degree or would I be fine with just an associate degree?

I think that you would be fine with an Associate's degree since the requirements currently state, "High school diploma or GED (college preferred)" but I would call the Cincinnati Police Department Recruiting Unit to see what they think...(513) 352-2971 or (877) 852-7641 (Toll Free)

I have heard "rumors" that a Bachelor's degree "may" be required in the future which is when you would be applying.

In all reality, having a degree helps you but it is not the only determining factor. Having recently completed the process, I can assure you that when the Chief reviews the eligible list, education is just one of the determining factors he looks at.

So long story short: Get your Bachelors. It will help and it's something you'll have for the rest of your life.
