Smile state corrections vs. county

Does anyone know if county corrections follow the same qualifications as the state does? Or does it vary depending on the county?

What sort of qualifications? The NYS Commission of Corrections mandates all training guidelines for all county CO's. But usually the hiring process, even though it Civil Service, is handled at the County level.

It's the same for state and county - 21 to be appointed.

My only concern is that I won't be 21 until September. So if a test is given in March or April will I be eligible? From what I read the process takes awhile.

your profile states that you were born in 1957, and that you heard about the site from your son's CJ proffesor.

But your 20 years old?
