I took the NYPD Exam in 10/2005... How long does it take to get your test results back?

You can expect to receive your written score in the mail from the Department of City Wide Services probably just after the beginning of the New Year. The city is desperate to hire new officers because their starting salary is on 25k a year. My advice is to look out of state along the eastern sea board or out west in states like CA, AZ, or NV. Most states don't waste their time with the long process that NY uses, and you could be hired very quickly in others, because they will speed the process for you. Good Luck in your endeavors. I am a former officer that worked in New York State, and I headed to Florida, Better living, better salary, and better retirement. Have been there for 5 years with no regrets.

thats open to interpretation I know people who have moved to s florida and moved elsewhere within 6 months.

for my family we would not move any further south than charlotte NC not that its bad down there in sunny florida but the heat the bugs the high costs of homes ect those things we can do without.

I'm so sick of trying to become a cop in NY... I'm moving to SC.
