A buddy I work with took the RPD emamk. However he said the proctors made a mistake while administering the exam. He said they didn't hand out the scantrons for the memorization part of the test until the questions were given. This made the canidates wait even longer before they could answer the questions, they couldn't answer them right away.

I took that test, my proctor was born yesterday, he had to check with his supervisor before accepting my crossexamination papers for oswego county sheriffs rochester and UP because he thought it was only a test for state of NY UP .... then he has us read the memory section for 3 minutes after that he had us fill out the top parts of our scantron sheets ...after that, then he let us try to answer the questions that were on the memory portion. I feel like I should ask for my money back on that test. that was poorly poorly administered. I am hoping we that were in citizen idiot's test room can be granted a 10 bonus for not stapling his lips to his desk. (not a true threat, and no i did not menace him with a stapler...)

It depends on where you live. I have a ccw that is restricted to employment, target, hunting, and training. basically, that means i carry it everyday at work, to work, from work, and inmy house. This is the highest level of ccw you will be granted in my county unless you are a Public Law Enforcement Officer. I work daily taking drugs off of people, breaking up 20 person physical altercations, dealing with drunks, and race/ diversity problems where almost no matter what, because I stopped the altercation I am now looked upon negatively. Many if not most of the people I will be working at controlling are gang members. If I am seen by these people when not working and not legally allowed to carry a firearm, I have no protection. Yet, my county will not grant full ccw ability due to the fact that I do not wear THE badge. Other counties differ. Onondaga County is hard to get a full ccw. So is madison I am told......But since you are an leo...I think all it takes generally is going to the county clerks office with the permit, showing the badge and having the clerk change the specs on the permit. that is what my permit lady told me last time I went in. She said it was the Judge's own ethics or what have yu that when proven that you are a police officer immediately she can change it to full unrestricted carry.

This is subjective of course, but my old boss went to that academy and he said it was very difficult, they were still kicking people out up to the last week.

I apologize for never responding. No, I am from Oswego County. I never complained, I got a 90 on the test. Onondaga County thinks of Onondaga County as a "hard" department. They will run you till you are blue. At leas that is what their pt guy told me. Generally , it sounds like running uphill both ways in a blizzard on the way to school when i was 4 years old.....

Why would I want to contact them? I didn't take the Onondaga test.

Yep I got contacted by Rochester yesterday but I did not get a score or a rank. Instead I got a background questionaire,an idea when the psych will be, and a note saying that I would be contacted shortly for scheduling an agility test. I do know I got a 90 on the exam because I already recieved my results from the rome police dept. 3 weeks ago. Anybody else?

I haven't gotten an exam result from RPD but I got it back from the state. Got a background packet from RPD though. We'll see what happens next.
