even with state troopers and MCSO deputies the city is having difficulty not that its news this has been going on for years but

do you put more cops on the road?

I am not sure what if anything will work for rochester they have tried it all.

Link to news story? I doubt it was because he "looked at someone the wrong way." I grew up in Rochester and lived there for 22 years. You'll never have any problems in the city if you don't buy/sell drugs, or go around asking for trouble.

WHAT IS NEW. Did you ever notice that the local media makes a big deal about murders in the county, but with the city???? The homicides in the city are viewed as just a number, that's not the case in the county. The suburbs get the big media attention.

This is surprising to you? That's how it works everywhere in the country. If something's unusual, it's going to get news attention. Murders in the city aren't unusual.

thats because the county does not get many murders. ask some of the deputies how many murder cases they have worked -- ask the guys with over 15 years on the job I would bet many of them can say they have never worked a murder scene. There use to be a joke in the town of greece that GPD officers service weapons would get glued to their holsters because the only time they ever needed to draw a weapon was during training. when that divorce attorney did his wife in a few years back it was big news because penfield is a bed room town--- they do not expect crime there

That "joke" is old. When I worked in Greece, I was walking around the corner at the mall and saw a friend of mine (Greece Officer) drawing down on a punk-*** kid that tried to run him over with his car.

Greece has turned into quite the ****hole... Where do you live in NY?

I saw that story in the D&C, soon as I saw the quote "What are YOU lookin' at?" I knew it wouldn't go well...
Just another reason I LOVE NY.
/sarcasm
4 murders in 24 hours. At this rate there won't be taxpayers to protect a ways down the road.

You're kidding yourself if you think most of the people being killed in the city pay taxes.

HA! That's the funniest thing I've heard all day.

I'm serious. What gives you the idea that teenagers pay taxes?

They don't.
But if they're all getting killed they'll NEVER pay any taxes.

Rpd

Anyone heard of RPD getting rid of that shrink, Supnik? He is a real piece of work. I know many officers that he said are not fit for the job. Wonder where he comes up with his opinions.

I believe he does the psychological exams for MCSO also. My buddy was a part-time deputy and took the test for full-time a few years back and he told him that he wasn't fit to be a police officer. When my buddy said "So I was fit 2 years ago when you cleared me to be a part-time deputy, but not now?"

He had no answer for that one.

I know it's just anecdotal, but it seems to me that cops often fail a psych. test. I duuno, maybe it's something about being a cop that does it to us. I know lots of cops, good cops, good people, that get shot down.

What do you think?
