The City of Marengo Board of Fire and Police Commission will be accepting applications for the position of Police Officer.

To Qualify Applicant Must:
• Be a United States Citizen
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 21 years of age at time of testing.
• Maximum of 34 years of age to apply, unless the
applicant meets certain Statutory Exceptions.
• Applicants 20 years of age may apply, if they have
successfully completed two years of law enforcement
schooling at an accredited college or university.

COMPLETE FULLY: The applicant will provide all required information, as stated in the application packet. Incomplete applications will disqualify candidates from further consideration. If packets are not fully completed applicant will not be allowed to attend orientation.

A $15.00 APPLICATION FEE IS REQUIRED

Starting Salary: $34,070 per year, plus generous benefit package.

To Apply: Application must be picked up and returned at Marengo City Hall, 132 E. Prairie Street, Marengo, Illinois from December 3, 2001 to Dec. 21,2001 (Monday thru Friday) between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM.

Applications must be returned to the Marengo City Office, 132 East Prairie Street, Marengo, Illinois, by Dec. 21, 2001 at 4:00 PM.

Applications may also be returned by mail to the attention of the Marengo Police Commission. Applications must be postmarked by Dec. 21, 2001.

Qualified candidates must attend a mandatory orientation meeting on Thursday, Jan. 3,2002 at 7:00 PM at Marengo City Hall (upstairs), 132 E. Prairie Street, Marengo, Illinois.
