The Cary Board of Police Commissioners is accepting applications for Police Officer.
Applicants must: be a United States Citizen, be between 21 and 35 Years of Age, Except as Provided by State Statutes, have a high School Diploma or GED, and be certified through the MUNICIPAL POLICE & FIRE REGISTRY.

Starting salary is $33,467 with excellent benefits. Candidates with previous law enforcement experience, including Illinois Police Academy training, may be eligible for a starting salary of $37,835.20. Currently, maximum salary is $54,641 after five years.

Applications will be available 24 hours a day beginning at 8:00 AM, Wednesday, November 21, 2001 at the Cary Police Department, 654 Village Hall Drive, Cary, IL 60013 (847-639-2341). Completed applications, accompanied by a Certification Letter from the Municipal Police & Fire Registry and other required supporting documents, must be received by the Cary Board of Police Commissioners, c/o Acting Chief of Police Ronald Delelio, at the Cary Police Department no later than midnight on Friday, December 21, 2001. The Police Commission will discuss a relocation allowance for candidates with previous Illinois police academy training certification and experience.

Successful candidates will be invited to continue in the selection process, which includes oral interview and intensive background investigation. Post-conditional offer process requires successful completion of psychological examination, polygraph examination, drug screen and medical physical examination.
