I was looking for suggestions on what to carry with me? Anyone carry more than 2 mags with them?

I was thinking maybe in purchasing an extended mag or maybe a few spares and a box of shells for the car and calling it done.

Any ideas for me?

I carry the SIG 226. There are two fifteen round mags on my belt, a seventeen round mag in my briefcase, and a case with several hundred rounds in the trunk. That's in addition to the shotgun or carbine.

I used to carry just what was required. Then I talked to cops who worked Hurricaine Andrew and the Rodney King riots.

If I carried a single stack pistol of any calibre, I would certainly carry four magazines.

Be safe.

If we're talking handguns ammo only, I carry two Scherer extended mags in my bag for my Glock 22, as well as 100 spare rounds in the trunk. Also extra rounds for the shotgun, rifle, etc.

Remember the SLA shootout??

Lesson learned: Ammo is like insurance...better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Personally, I'd say two mags on the bat belt is fine...but a couple or four more in your "go bag" won't hurt anything. And why not through in a box or two of ammo as well....that way...you can bring enough to the party to share!!

More than 2 mags? Oh hell yes!

I won't bore you with the details, but my motto is you can never have too many guns or too much ammo. http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif

That's why I keep gaining weight, so I can carry more mags on my belt. http://www.officer.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif I've never seen anyone need more than two, but I'd also hate to be the first one that did and didn't have them.

Our entire department carries H&K USP 40s for sidearms and H&K MP5s in the cars.

1 mag in the gun, 2 on the belt. Spare ammo in the trunk.

Ditto above: Better to have it and not need it.
