Columbus Police Division will be starting a reserve class in the next few months. They are currently looking for people to join their next class. This may be a good good "back door" way into the department for anyone who is interested. The requirements are prtty much the same as for full-time police to begin the Reserve Academy and when you are done will you will be a fully trained, OPOTA certified police officer for the city. There will be two seperate classes one for those who are already OPOTA certified and those who are not. I think this is a good opportunity to get ones foot in the door with CPD and begin to start your LE career. Just a thought. If you are interested let me know I can forward your name and email address to the Lt. If you need more information check out the reserves page on the CPD website.
I was sheduled to be in this 2009 class, the waiting game sucks so getting in the door anywhere is always a plus. Hope this helps!
