I don't think very much of it...especially of the idiot who asks why registering a gun is a bad thing? Doesn't anyone learn from history? Hitler was able to prevent any type of serious resistance from German citizens because they had a gun registry. All he had to do it send his troops to the houses and collect the weapons.
I'm all for people being trained in the use of their handgun of choice, IF they are going to be carrying it concealed. If it's merely for home protection, then training is a good idea, but no reason to deny ownership.

Sounds to me like this agorophobic has other issues in his life that need his attention more than gun control. What does he care, he doesn't leave his house.

There has been a book recently published entitled 'More Guns, Less Crime'. I believe it makes the statement that in areas where the population is allowed to carry firearms on their person, the crime rate is lower. One of the MANY reasons my husband and i immigrated here from the u.k was because we are responsible gun enthusiasts. We are both trained in the use of firearms and we believe that it is every persons right to defend themselves and their family. Since we moved to California, the gun laws here are getting progressively more and more annoying, We have been seriously considering a move to Texas. We'd like to raise our family in a state that has similar views as far as gun ownership is concerned.

Blondie,
Let me be the first to invite you to Nevada. We may not be as open-minded as Texas when it comes to some things. For instance, they allow you, as far as I know, to shoot anyone who happens to be on your property at night without your permission. Here, we still have to prove they meant to do some kind of harm. But, all in all, it ain't bad. Yet.....

My husband has business associates in Vegas! We'd actually heard of a gated community- last i heard it was called 'Front Sight' about 40 miles west of Vegas. Supposedly it has a lot of firing ranges and i think they do some training for the local sheriffs dept? they also have the 'tunnels of terror'! Now THAT sounds like a cool place to raise our son! http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif But it's a little too far out of the city for me...i'm a real city girl (but i think Vegas itself sounds a little hectic even for me!) still, it's something to think about http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif.....

Connie, without being too graphic (I know that sounds strange coming from me), the words are "This is my rifle, this is my gun, this is for fighting, this is for fun." You can figure out the visual to go with that. http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif
