I just bought a Glock 20 and 3 hi-caps. Does anyone else have a 10mm of any brand? I can't carry it on-duty, but it will make a fine off-duty plainclothes weapon.

Be safe,
Hoppy

Don't you know the 10mm is dead? Wiley Clapp (or someone) just said so in the new G&A, so it must be true. http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif I have never had a 10mm, I carry a G22 in 10mm short(.40).The only 10's I am aware of are the Glock, Colt Delta Elite and the late, great Bren.Who else makes one? I claim no expertise in the realm of the 10mm, in fact I never really considered it before.Welcome to the site.

Wiley Coyote has the clap???
I guess roadrunner tastes like chicken after all. http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
The Witness line boasts a 10mm, but from my 10mm friends, I hear that the Glock is the most controllable. The Delta are out there at scalpers prices, as are the Brens.

I have some 170gr hp's that go 1320 out of a Glock 20, not a dead cartridge... just a deadly one. http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I saw that article too, a waste of good paper that one. http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

LOL. I was deeply bummed to learn that my old Colt Jr.(pre '68).25 auto was no longer worth having. Guess I'll have to bury it along with the old S&W Terrier I have in .38 S&W caliber. Gun writers, jeeez.I don't know why I still subscribe to all these rags.Same articles written over and over.I likes the pictures I guess.I should write some articles, maybe get famous.

Hoptoe,

I bought a Delta Elite when they first came out. It was an impulse buy fueled by those oh so impressive Ballistic Tables. About a week later I was sorry that I bought it, and wanted to trade it in. I decided to shoot it at least once before getting rid of her.

Changed my mind after the second magazine was empty. I loved that gun. Accurate, magnum level ballistics, and very controllable. Wow I thought, this will be the ultimate cartrage. Every thing the .41 mag was suppose to be.
The shine fadded within a few years, but not due to the gun or the round.
I had to get rid of my poor Delta(stayed in the gun shop for 2 days before being sold) I couldn't find ammo, and when I did it was always the FBI Lite stuff. So I started reloading my own, and then came across the problem of finding good brass. What good is having a Corvette if you can't find the gas to put in it?

Hopefully you will not have the same problems I did. The 10 deserves much more attention then it gets.

Long Live the Ten.

p.s. Wasn't it Mr. Clapp that complained of excessive recoil when the round first came out?

Campus,
Sorry to hear about your Delta. http://www.officer.com/ubb/frown.gif
I have found tons of ammo on the web and a smattering locally. I have a buddy who is a defective and he carries his Delta daily. He is using Gold Dot loads that he bought on-line also.
Triton ammo is attempting a Bren Ten revival and loads ammo for the 10mm along with cor-bon and most all the commercial manufacturers. The internet makes ammo finding a breeze. Now the price is a different matter, it is still expensive. http://www.officer.com/ubb/frown.gif
My cheapest source for any ammo is www.cheaperthandirt.com (http://www.cheaperthandirt.com)

Enough babbling,
Hoppy

I know of only one P.D. around here that still carries a 10mm. Its a S&W and they refer to it as the same model the FBI carried. Along with that their tactical team carries an H&K 10mm entry gun which resembles a MP-5.

Thanks for the link to Cheaperthandirt. I think I just found my source for .44 spcl. I was running into the same difficulties with the .44 spcl as I had with the 10. Whew, saved!

I know what you mean about expensive. It is very difficult explaining to the wife why you spend $30 to destroy a nickles worth of aluminum cans.

What have you got in 44spl?
I love revolvers. http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Hoptoe,

It's probably not what you were hoping to hear. (ie the S&W Mountain Gun..or is it what I am wanting to say?)
.44 spcls are what I burn in my 29 and Anaconda. The magnums are awfully fun for awhile, but after a box I can't feel my hand anymore.

Glad to hear you love revolvers. I was starting to feel kind of lonely.

Thanks Glockarmorer,
I have been hanging there for a couple of weeks, of course I pretend to be a non-leo, makes it easier to talk to the gunnies.
It also makes it fun on cop talk, really irritates the lunatics when a non-leo tells them they are idiots. http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
