IF you want to legally possess a firearm in the near future I would seriously consider voting for Bush. We all know where the Clinton/Gore Admin. stands on gun control and one of Gore's main issues will be the federal registering of firearms which will lead to their abolishment. Do not think for a minute you cannot lose your rights to own a firearm to protect one's self and family, you can! If you vote for Gore kiss your 2nd amendment and guns rights away! Take a look at the state of CA or Countries such as England and Austrailia. I believe with Bush and Cheney in the White house we can come one step close to getting nationwide CCWing. Bush was the first Governor of Texas to sign a bill and give the citizens of Texas the right to CCW and protect themselves.
If you want your gun Vote BUSH!

What's wrong with the gun laws in the UK and Australia ?

Their guns were confiscated by their government. They no longer have the privilige of keeping and bearing arms. Their Governments thought that doing this would lower crime and make things safer. They were wrong! Violent crime now in those countries has more then tripled and home invasions have tripled as well. The people now have no way of protecting themselves. Those that are allowed to have long guns are required to submit alot of paperwork and the gun must be broken down in one's home and locked up. What good that would do you if someone broke in! In fact due to all the home invasions they don't even know how to classify that crime since their never was one on the books. I urge people to join the NRA, you may not entirely agree with all their views but I strongly believe they and their members are the only reason we are all still allowed to keep and bear arms. The choice is up to you, we cannot let the United States fall victim to what has happened to UK and Austrailia. In November please vote BUSH/CHENEY!

I agree Tackleberry, why disarm the citizens? If we disarm our citizens they go from being citizens to victim citizens. Arm the people and let the criminals GUESS who has a gun.

Arm em all. Make the criminals afraid instead of the citizenry for a change.

macleaod, where is the logic in confiscating guns from non-criminals? If my neighbor has a gas leak, should you come take the matches from my house or go fix his leak?

Tac I would question the NRA's figures, certainly in the UK domestic house breaking figures are down since the firearms act.
Then again in the UK Firearms have never been avalable for self defense only for sport shooting or pest control.
I would agree that the banning of hand guns after the Dumblane massacre was a bit over the top. But I do belive that ownership of fire arms should be regulated.
I think there is a fundemental difference in the attitude to and use of firearms in the UK. The general population in urban areas have no use for firearms and as such don't want them or get licenses for them.
I don't agree with the idea the an armed society is a safer one. But I do belive that there should be access to firearms for those that need them.
Stay safe.

The primary reason for the right to bear arms is to protect the people from tyranny.
Read Washington, Paine, Franklin, Madison, Jefferson, Adams, Lee, etc etc etc.
An armed society is a polite society. Get it?
