Actually, in this case it was my wife. In that jurisdiction, helmet use is not enforced. We had stopped to buy a loaf of fresh bread and were only 2.5 miles from home. I was going to leave the helmet hanging on the left grip and she read me the riot act. A few minutes later another motorcycle running without lights came out of the dark while I was overtaking a slow car and I lowsided trying to avoid him.
