Hey,
Im living in SD right now, but applying to a few departments in the bay area. Instead of flying up there a million times, I thought it would be easier to send my T scores for the written up to them, and eliminate a trip or two. Unfortunately SDPD does not do the standard POST test, but uses there own. Does anyone know a department in or around San Diego that does use that test?

san diego sheriff's department. I haven't taken it yet, but it is the post test.

Here is my response to a similar question in another thread:

Most agencies in CA accept laterals only from departments within CA. Out of state candidates must take the CA P.O.S.T. exam to qualify for CA certification or attend an academy within this state.

The best thing to do is contact the recruiter for the agency you have an interest in and ascertain what, if anything, they are willing to accept.
