I just saw a news story on GMA about a family who found there kidnapped daughter in Toledo, it took 93 minuets for police to arrive, A ambulance and news crew where on scene and treating the father for injures he sustained when he went in and rescued his daughter. Can any one explain why it would take 93 minutes after 7, 911 calls to get police on the scene?

I always have to redirect my patrols because to my dispatcher, thinks animal calls are important. I also have to remind the dispatcher that I’m the shift supervisor, and not them. For some reason they think there in charge of what patrols do.

Yeah, I saw that, too. Only it was on the hour-long Prime Time Crime the night before -- much more detail. And even more outrageous.

But see this (http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080716/ART18/807160322) from the Toledo Blade.

Yeah, I used to go to college in Toledo. The police there are just a little slow to react. And I don’t mean any disrespect to the TPD officers because I am told that their dispatch is messed up big time. While living there I had my apartment broken into and I knew I wasn't going to see anyone for hours. It probably took them 4-5 hours. But in this case with a missing girl, something should have been different. This is certainly a problem.

I would actually like to work in Toledo since I had lived there the last 4 years but dont know if I would want to move back into the city again
