Does anyone know anything about the Columbus Police Reserves unit?

Just looking for information on if they are hiring reserve officers, how long the training is and how large is the program? And what you full time officers think about the reserve unit. Thanks

As far as I know you go through pretty much the same hiring process as CPD officers, then are put on a list and based on availability, put through the CPD academy.

I assume you checked the Police Reserve page of the CPD website: http://www.columbuspolice.org/. During my time I worked with a few reserve officers and found them dedicated and well trained. I never heard anything negative and all were welcome. They mostly enjoyed (and helped) working the busy precincts during second shift on a friday or saturday.
