Yes, I know that there normally is not such a thing, but there is a provision to allow one to obtain one under certain circumstances. And one would have to meet with the Police Chief to get it.

As the victim of violent crime, a Florida CCW permit holder, and a Firefighter/Paramedic, what would my chances of being able to obtain this be?

I actually do fear for my life at times, and the incident has changed me, for the worse. I am withdrawn at times, and am not the sociable person I used to be, and I suffer from flashbacks sometimes at night, or when I am reminded of the incident.

Since the Mutt that did it only got probation, and is still a free man, do I have a shot (no pun intended), or would I be wasting my, and the Chiefs time?

Appreciated Brothers. Stay safe.

Not to sound like I'm being nasty but....You have a better chance of.....

1. Being struck by lighting

2. Winning the multi state powerball lottery

3. Seeing pigs fly, right along with helling freezing over!

If you are politically connected you probably will get a NJ CCW.

I know of PA cops who lived in NJ who couldn't get a NJ CCW and that doesn't mean a retired cop but a current cop. Now that LEOSA is there that point is moot but before this there were out of state LEO's including myself who tried and just wasted my time.

Don't even bother living or moving to NJ, it is nothing but a major waste. There is a reason why you have to pay tolls to get out of NJ.

I doesn't sound nasty at all, just straight shooting.

I can't help but wanna come back to Jersey, (probably the repeated blows to the head :D ), not to mention the experience for a Paramedic can not be beaten anywhere else.

Politically connected won't do it. They are just not given. I'm not sure if a ccw even exists in NJ law books.

No local police chief would ever approve the issuance of a CCW. They would kick it right up to a superior court judge, who most def give you a big red rubber stamper. You could try, but no go.

P.S. I am sorry to hear of your traumatic even, but as you mentioned that you have flashbacks and are withdrawn. Those are generally behaviors that are not good when it comes to carrying a firearm.
