I present to you a newly badged and newly blued police officer. You may, once again, call me "Officer Guams."

That's right... Since December I haven't been working (the park ranger thing was seasonal, and I'd been looking for a full-time LE job). Well... it's finally shown it's head... and I get sworn in on Tuesday.

It was long, it was tough... but I can now include myself in the ranks again.

I can barely type right now, my hands are shaking in excitement.

So, to all who offered advice, encouragement, and words of wisdom... THANK YOU!!!

See you on the street. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks, everyone! Between the camping I've been doing with the future in-laws, and the monster storm we just had... I finally managed to get back home.

Here's the drill so far...

I gotta be to the PD at 8:00AM on Tuesday to be sworn into both villages (1 department, 2 villages, combined population of ~7,000 people). The Chief said they're having a shoot that day, so I'll qualify with both the Glock and the AR :). I get to do all the warm and fuzzy insurance, payroll, and misc. paperwork. Fingerprints, blah blah blah. Uniform and vest fitting as well. I finally get a vest that fits me properly... and not an XL vest for a guy who wears small. :p

Less-lethal shotgun and Taser (wahoo!) training will be later sometime... I guess I'll be training for those with the part-timers they hired. All in all, I'm freakin' excited... I can't wait.

I'm not sure what my "official" start date is... that will probably determined on Tuesday as well. Either way... this is a huge weight lifted off my shoulders...
