View Full Version : Leaving the JOB in Fl for NYPD/FEMA credits

Some would say I'm crazy, but due to some family issues I'm choosing to move back to NY and join NYPD. Im taking the walk-in test in 2 weeks, but I need more credits and Im gonna go the FEMA route. I'm hoping I can bang everything out for the Jan class. To the guys who have done them recently, how long does it take (on avg) per lesson. Also PM me if you have done them recently b/c I have another question.;)

When I did them depending on how fast you read and how many distractions you have bout 30 min or so. Dependig on how many questions there are. Just look for the ones that have 25 to 30 questions and start wiht those. it'll save you tons of time. It took me 4 of doing the ones with 50 questions to relize other wise.

quick question

Marko360, have you spoken to any of the NYPD recruiters about going thru a refresher course instead of going thru the whole academy again?

according to this the employing agency can suggest you be eligible for this course?

Nobody said anything yet. I was under the impression you had to complete a whole academy again. Im gonna call and see what they say. Thanks

No good, you have to do the whole academy. Are you going to be taking the FEMA courses for credits?

NYPD will not accept a refresher course.

All agencies in NYC and Long Island require you to attend their academy or the NYPD academy.

Not all agencies. I believe that the SUNY PD's will accept past NY training since they do not have their own academy.
