I have previously asked this question before with no response, so I'll try again... can anyone provide me with some info about the White Plains PD? I am scheduled to take the physical agility test and did very well on the entrance exam.

I am looking specifically for info regarding work conditions, morale, OT availability, relationship with other agencies and the public, promotional oportunities, etc, etc. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I couldn't take their test because I live in Suffolk county.

My sit-ups/push-ups portion isn't until late August with a run sometime after that.

i have friends and family members with the wpfd and as far as i know about the police dept. i dont think morale is too high there is a pretty high turnover rate. A lot of officers use it as a stepping stone to smaller agencies within westchester. But i think it has improved somewhat with Commissioner Jackson. I couldn't tell you about overtime or work conditions because i'm not too familiar with the dept. Since I live locally I know most people perceive the cops in white plains to be very strict they don't let much go and they're the only dept. I know of in westchester with a 5 day work week. hope that helps a little bit.

Has anyone received any letters from White Plains? I did saying that they are going to start processing early next year from this exam.

I received a letter stating that they will be sending out packets regarding background information. But they said not everyone will receive them. (Only those who scored high on the written will get them obviously.)

I received that letter about a month ago. I just received another letter saying that the list is going to be established January 1,2009 and they going to start processing for people who scored 80 and above.
