MTA POLICE recruit class----JULY 2008---

Is anyone going through the hiring process for MTA police and waiting for the JULY 9th police academy?

I am in the process now from the October 2004 exam. I also took the 2008 exam but I did not get my results yet.

Has anyone gotten their conditional offer of employment yet? Are they hiring roll-overs from the NYPD as well as 10 recruits?

nope not yet and where did u hear they are only sending in 10 cadets? I heard 50 a few months back

I also took the 04 exam.....Back in jan i came in to take the makeup physical after failing the first time. Past it then did the panel interview the next week. But then got a letter saying congrats you past the panel interview but we're not hiring at the moment.
Obviously they are having a july class......does anyone know what this means?? Think i just got put on some kind of hold or am i screwed???

that means they dno't want you. If they didn't give you the backgruond packet right after the panel interview it means they don't want you. That letter is just covering there butt that's all. MTA POLICE is not civil service

Look guys, I have no clue as to why it went from 50 – 10 recruits for the next up coming class. (Although I might have a clue (budget)).

Initially the Acting Chief said he want fifty guys to go straight into the academy, but once the new Chief stepped in, he overrule the decision of the Acting Chief and wanted only ten. I don’t know what his agenda is or maybe it could simply be he wants to bring in some of his own boy/girls.
Since I’m always on the loop of what going on here around the MTAPD, I’m always on the lookout for you guys consistently to get information for you guys.
As of now, I don’t know if they have send out offering yet for the July class.
As for the test results for the latest test, I highly doubt you guys will get your result anytime because the NY Trooper hasn’t even gotten theirs yet.
I promise if I hear anything new I’ll update you guys.

thx PEKKIER but I spoke to my investigator and she said the letters went out 2-3 weeks ago for the first class to go in. Hm I bet you his agenda is to get his guys from NYPD in guarantee there is no other reason the guy before him decided they need 50 guys to go into the july class they must've defniitely needed them. I just hope when they expire this list we don't get expired along with him. What's your opinion on that though? I mean me and MTA hopeful went thruogh the testing...physical...panel interview and completed the background process. You think they would just throw that away or us away more or less

I dont mean to cause any problems but I think everyone here should know that the user Pekkier is not a police officer, let alone a Sergeant in the MTA PD.

In another thread I asked how many people applied for the MTA exam, he said 40k. Well off 9,000 which is the real number of applicants.

He complained in another thread about a user posting the chief of police salary online, if you can believe that nonsense. If he's a cop he should know that is public information.

I've always had suspicions on this guy, he's always the last to know something. Then after someone tells him he preaches like he really knew but didnt understand.

My Best friend is a MTA cop, I asked him questions about how many people took the test and when are we getting the scores, and he doesn't have a clue. He doesn't know how much his Sgt makes or the chief. so that doesn't make him a real MTA cop?

With a three day work schedule, something like that is to be expected. They get insane overtime.

If your friend doesn't know then he doesn't know. But shooting off 40k? And that wasn't even the point. Read the first link in my post.

Are you serious? the Hardest? :confused: Comparable to Suffolk? :confused: The Suffolk test was a relatively easy exam. Check the other MTA PD thread, everyone thought that was a breeze as well.
