Out Of State Laterals

Any NY police Dept accept out of state laterals or mini academy. I'm prior Honolulu pd and now NV POST Catagory I certified. Looking at moving back to my home state.

as far as I know, NO. but hey I might be wrong. Many agencies around here don't even take laterals within the state so they make you go through their own academy.

Yes, NY state allows it. What you have to do is submit your training records to the state criminal justice service. And they compare it to NY's and decide if you need anything else. If you do then you will have to attend classes for whatever that might be. There is a contact person for this from the state who works in Albany, who deals with this very thing.
