I am 23 and currently in a BLET program. We have 10 weeks until graduation and I was wanting some advice on when and where to apply. Some of our instructors have said wait until you have the cert. others have said do it now because in most agencies the application will stay on file for 6 months.
We have also been told that most departments will not hire anybody until the next budget year which for most is July/August.
Also where to apply. I know to "flood the market" but what are some things that I need to look for when applying and seriously thinking about starting a career with an agency i.e. turnover rate training pay benefits overtime ect? Any input is greatly appreciated.
