Has anyone used the external carriers by J.G. Uniforms? They look like duty shirts. I am trying to get info from those who have used them. Our agency is considering them, and I would like to have more information to present.
I ordered one, but it isn't here yet.

They are great, order with confidence. I have been using their covers for over 8 years. Of course I have it lucky and am able to walk right into the store and have mine done, never had to do an "over the phone" order. But they do so many cover, they are truly experts at it. They must makes thousands of covers a year. So I don't think you will ever hear a bad word about them.

I have two black carriers from JG and when the time comes, I'll go back to them again. I've had mine about two years and they are in great shape, but the flap over one of the pockets is falling off because the stitching is coming undone. Easily fixed so I'm still happy.
Doesn't Chicago use these?

My department just approved these for our class b and class a uniforms, tan and brown respectively. I guess a handful of people have already bought the class b's and are SUPER happy with them. JG has been very willing to work with one of our guys to get a brown material that will match our shirts so that they can do custom ordered brown ones for our class a uniforms.

Well, I ordered mine and got it Friday. I wore it for three shifts...I love it so far. I am also looking into getting ripstop fabric (like 5.11 TDU's) and having a tailor make one from that material so it looks just like the 5.11's I wear. I'm not sure how feasible it will be. Thanks for all your input.

yea J&G does a good job, a Chicago company, I used to work for a chicagoland agency but Ive been around to other parts of the country since then, and havent really noticed them caught on quite as big as the chicago area. If you didnt notice most of those who responded are Illinois people! You and I are the only ones from other places.

Well, the brass seems to like them, but I doubt they will be issuing them on the departments dime anytime soon. It was worth the money out of my wallet, though. Nothing like going to the office and shedding it and being 20 degrees cooler.

3 guys in my dept. use them. They all love them, and I wish our chief would spring for them.
