ANCHORAGE POLICE DEPARTMENT RECRUITING EVENT

The Anchorage Police Department will be traveling to the States of Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin in May to conduct applicant processing for both lateral officers and new recruits. More information is available on our website, www.joinapd.org (http://www.joinapd.org).

The schedule and instructions below provide specific guidance for applicants. By testing at one of the six locations below, applicants will reduce the number of trips they have to make to Anchorage down to one to complete the hiring process.

The Anchorage Police Department is now hiring for an academy anticipated to start on January 26th, 2009. The academy is 22 weeks long and operates Monday thru Thursday, 0700-1800 hours and is a non-residential program. The wage while in the academy is $27.02 per hour for new recruits and $28.45 for lateral officers. Upon successful completion of the academy the officer will move to the FTO program.

All applicants will be processed using the standard APD hiring process. Lateral applicants will also be required to provide written records establishing that you meet the APSC qualifications. Be sure to review the entry level study guide before showing up for the test. Submit your request to test form in advance to ensure that you meet the qualifications for testing. Although pre-registration is recommended, walk-ins will be accepted. Request to test forms can be faxed to 907-786-8618 or emailed to Officer Steve Haas at shaas@ci.anchorage.ak.us

The paperwork that you need to bring with you to testing is:
