Aside from Detroit and the State... Already applied with the state and really have no interest in working in/for Detroit.

If you are already MCOLES certified or certifiable you might be able to get a LEO job in MI. If you are not certified you won't stand a chance. There are several small agencies in MI that will frequently hire part time officers. Most of these agencies do not advertise the position, just contact the agency and ask if they are hiring part timers. Down the road they normally promote part timers to full timers. Also keep checking the papers and the employment section of this website. The medium size departments Grand Rapids, Lansing, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Detroit suburbs, etc... They probably hire about 10-15 guys a year. The big problem is you might get several hundred applicants for a single job.
