Cincinnati PD is giving a test I believe in May. If you cruise over to the Ohio section you will likely get more reply's.
Don't know that I would go with the city, but there are plenty of good active suburbs. Loveland just posted, they're starting at 59k DOQ. Springfield Twp. I believe is still hiring and they start over 50k. Just depends on how active of dept. you're looking for.
Look up a map of the greater Cincy region to learn the surrounding communities and go to job banks www.indeed.com and www.simplyhired.com and search 'police' in Ohio.
With your drug experience, there would probably be some specific depts. that would be interested.
Let me know if I can be further help.

The correct spelling is Cincinnati. One "T".

CPD is definitely hiring. I was at a staff meeting for a completely unrelated reason (shadowing a manager for a course project) and they tried to recruit me on the spot. They just had a test and are looking to do another one soon.
Not sure if you have to live in Ohio but Northern Kentucky is only a blink over the river...however you'd have to reside there. Its literally about 3 minutes from downtown Cinci if you drive over the bridges...maybe 10 if you walk!

My older Brother is a grad of UCinn, so I have visited there many times.
Not a large city by any means but because of professional sports teams and Universities in and around the city it has a diverse population. Plus many tourists that come into the downtown areas to shop and stay over for Reds/Bengals/UC/Xavier games, especially weekends etc.
Some friction from KKK idiots clashing with NAACP because of the cities liberal parade passes issued in the past. UC is on top of hill from downtown area, African-American section between UC and downtown. Some 'white flight' out of immediate city to suburbs.
Airport is about 1/2 into Kentucky, but has several airlines that service the city.
