Hello,

I was wondering how often the FBI Investigative/Surveillance Specialist SSG position opens up.

I applied last year in October but wasn't able to go a head with the process due to responsibilities with my current employer (I was in a 2 year contract that has since expired).

I am hoping to re-apply this year if it opens for recruitment. Is it likely to open up, or do they only hire for this position every few years?

Thanks in advance!

I thought you had a hook with the Allegheny County PD?

Best thing would be just to call your local field office, and ask a human resource person, or call FBIHQ in Washington D.C. and ask them. There is also a discussion about the topic here http://forums.officer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73860&highlight=ssg

This is the website for your office in PA, http://pittsburgh.fbi.gov/

God Bless.

SSG will be doing more hiring in the summer and the end of the year. I do not have specifics, but do know there are some hiring initiatives planned around November. They are down a lot of people and are still attempting to fill the ranks. Good Luck!
