Anyone get details on the condition of the officers and circumstances on the shooting? Sounds like they were called to escort a 415 subject from the location and he pulled a gun. One officer was hit in the jaw and one in the leg according to the news report, then the suspect was KIA at the scene. Although it sounds gang related, no further info from the report I heard.

I was looking for more info as well, saw it on the 4am repeat of the 11news when i got home this morning but no one had updates up yet.
I was just thinking of starting a thread on the seemingly dramatic rise in OIS's in LA county. There have been so many in the past month including specific targeting of individual officers. This rise in OIS's happening anywhere else?

A dispute at an El Segundo movie theater late Friday sparked a shootout that left two police oficers wounded, one critically, and the suspect dead, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesmen said in a statement late this morning.
Neither of the officers had life-threatening injuries, but both remain hospitalized today, sheriff's officials said.
The identities of the three shooting victims have not been made public.
The shootout occurred at about 10:15 p.m. at the Pacific Theatres' Beach Cities Stadium 16 on Nash Street.
In the first detailed accounting of the event, the Sheriff's Department statement traced the shootings to a dispute between a man and theater employees. Two on-duty El Segundo Police Department officers at the theater were contacted by another employee. After the officers approached the suspect, they began searching him, officials said.
"During [the] pat-down search he produced a handgun and began shooting. The officers were both struck by gunfire but were able to return fire striking the suspect," the statement said.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene; one officer was critically injured in the jaw and the other was shot in the torso.
El Segundo police referred media calls to the Sheriff's Department, which is investigating the shooting because the city police have no homicide division, a sheriff's spokesman said.

one of the officers was a former co-worker of mine at LAXPD- scott"clark kent" O'conner- good guy, goofy as all get up and a real character - quick to joke ,and really nice guy- knowing Scott,he was trying to be as polite as possible,so I'm "glad" he sent that POS on a one way trip to hell !!!Just be careful out there guys-like a DI at OCSDA said to all of us in an AOT class-"you can get another job, but if you don't shoot first, you'll be six feet under by the morning"....

Hey guys, I didn't see the officers myself, I was at the CP. The Lennox deputies that were first on scene said both officers (actually one was a Lt. on a chow run) were alert and talking when they rolled up. The Lt. took one in the mouth that broke his jaw and eventually lodged in his neck. Another couple mm's the wrong way it would have severed his carotid. He must have had an angel on his shoulder that night. Although they were both struck they didn't give up and took care of their business.
