i'm in the same situation with you as well, except my locations are:
newport pd
irvine pd
costa mesa pd
Do what i did: create a spread sheet and tabulate all their data of benefits, salary (broken down into hourly if need be), work schedules, etc..
Right now, IVPD is on my top list for their work schedule, even though the pay is lower than CMPD. But then again, y not try applying to every department you listed? Not to sound like a "nay sayer", but it's good to have backups to cover your bases. I'm applying to all 3 and hoping i at least get accepted into one.
goodluck.

goodluck. That will take a lot of money and time off because i'm out of state. Plus, my "backup" agency is my current agency ;)

point noted. out of the 3, my friend is applying to Santa Ana because:
1. He lives for danger. That's his addiction, the rush of danger.
2. The pay is $65k starting (don't quote me on this.. that's what he says).
I'm sure the other departments are comparable, but i never looked into Westminster or GGPD.

Westminster is in the planning stages of getting a brand new 90,000 sq/ft building to replace their old one. Every officer carries a taser. You can carry an AR-15 although you have to purchase it yourself. The cars pretty much all have new LED light bars. GPS is also installed in every unit. They pay 5% for AA, 10% for BS+ .. Put in 4 years of special assignment and you'll get 10% more .. 17% raise over 4 years was the last contract negotation .. 3/12.5 + 1 payback, 4/10, and 3/11.5 + 2 paybacks work schedules.. They hired about 25 people in the last 5 years .. mostly younger guys/gals .. A few admin positions are up for retirement soon .. Its a tight nit family and a great group of people to work with

A highly visible agency as well & I admire & appreciate it. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't see a Westminster P.D. unit on the streets. Drive through other towns around here & I wonder where the police presence is.

I have a friend on WPD, and I was a WPD exploder back in the day. They are a very good agency, as stated a tight-knit group, and a fun place to work (per my buddy).

Another good thing I just found out about them is everything is calculated into their OT, I mean their med benefits are calculated as part of Ot and every thing else. Thats can rally add up because it can increase how much $$$ you make on OT but as much as 30%
