I need to buy a .40 for my new job, and I'd like to stay with a Sig P226 if I can, since I already own the holster/mag pouches for it, and I love it.
I was going to do a direct sale with Sig, but they've raised their prices a lot, so I'm shopping around. Anyone have any recomendations on where to go looking either in Wisconsin or online?
I'm going to try out another guys G22 otherwise, but I'd sure love to stay with what I know and love - nothing against the Glock, of course.

Go here- http://sigforum.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/350601935 ! In addition to some great deals on used pistols, the dealers who advertise regularly at the SIGforum have some great prices on new models. If you buy a new pistol from a dealer, Sig-Sauer has a police rebate program going on. All you have to do is go to their website, download the form and submit it to Sig-Sauer for a rebate!

I lurk there all the time, and there are some sweet deals. There are a lot of CPO's on the forum for cheap (considering). I would also take a look at http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/index.php.
ETA: I just saw this http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/778/products_id/50874, and I am having a very hard time not buying one!

I just got a CPO (Certified Pre Owned)Sig 228 from Buds for $550. Couldn't be happier. They let me purchase it on-line, then shipped it to a local FFL. When I went to pick it up, my dealer said " I thought you where getting a used gun, this thing looks brand new!". I certianly understand if you want a New gun, but if you want to save a few bucks, CPO is the way to go. IMO.

Check Streicher's out of Milwaukee (and Minneapolis if you live in the Western part of the state.) I got my Glock through them, and they did a great job helping me use my Homeland Security Discount with Glock. They can ship to any FFL dealer, or to your department. I dont know that they'll be the best price, but they have good prices and a good reputation.
The only recommendation is that I would call BOTH Streicher's in Milwaukee and Minneapolis. One of them gave me a higher price for the same gun as the other, but then matched the lower price when I called the other one. Saved me another $30 by just asking the other place to meet the lower price.
